Appearance: Peter is a lanky, relatively tall seventeen year old, standing just short of six feet tall (Andrew Garfield's around that height, so it seems to make sense Peter would be somewhere around there). He's got relatively short brown hair that generally looks a little touseled, brown eyes, and definitely looks like a teenager. He's got some good muscle on him, enough to make it look like he's an athlete or works out a lot, but it's sometimes hard to tell because he's still skinny, and tends to dress in stuff that hides, for example, how well defined his arms are.
History: The Amazing Spider-Man on Wikipedia
Previous Game History: N/A
Personality: Peter does a lot of growing up over the course of the film. He starts off as, and is still is very much a teenager, but does sort of grow into himself by the end of the movie. He's a little awkward and doesn't quite know where his place in the world is just yet, although he's certainly on his way there by this point, and has spent most of his life feeling a little bit lost and unhappy. This is largely because his parents left when he was very young, suddenly, and were apparently killed in a plane crash, leaving him with his aunt and uncle. While Ben and May Parker were the best surrogate parents Peter could have asked for, it never really soothed the ache of wondering what had happened and why they left, and as such, Peter's had a bit of a brooding, unhappy element to him that can rear its head without warning. While he does have a better inkling into why they left now, there are still a lot of unanswered questions he'd liked to be able to ask them, and there's nothing that can really fix that beyond accepting what happened, and he's not quite there yet in a lot of ways.
As a smart kid who's kind of a little awkward around people, and not exactly the most social person, Peter doesn't have a lot of friends his own age, and is known as a bit of a wallflower in high school. He's picked on by the bullies and ignored by most of the other non nerd students, and in general, kind of goes through high school just trying to get through it. Despite all this, he's always had guts. He might not have been the toughest or strongest kid before getting bitten by a genetically engineered spider, but that didn't stop him from sticking up to the bullies and defending other kids when no one else was willing to do it, even if it meant probably getting hurt in the process.
Peter doesn't handle grief or guilt well, at least initially. He doesn't often talk about his parents, and can get cagey and defensive when they come up. In a lot of ways, it's even worse after Uncle Ben's death, because Peter feels responsible for what happened and is struggling to find an outlet for all that emotion. He used it to fuel his crime fighting for quite a while, going after criminals who looked like the man who murdered his uncle, and in a process that was mostly trial and error, learned to turn his anger into something more productive. While he's sort of learned his lesson about personal revenge being far less important than helping innocent people who truly need it, there's still a level of lack of resolution on that chapter of his life that still carries some weight. Peter might have put the search for Uncle Ben's killer on hold, but his sketch is still tacked on his bulletin board in his room, and there's some question about how he'll react if he ever does cross paths with the man who murdered his surrogate father.
In general, he can be secretive, and he does have some trouble letting people into his life. When upset, he often likes to be alone, and has a hard time articulating himself, or even wanting to talk about what's upsetting him, often just clamming up and getting the hell out before he starts actually crying. He can't bring himself to tell his aunt what he's actually doing with his nights despite her worrying about him coming home bruised and cut up every night, because he knows she'll worry more if she knows what he's actually doing. When depressed about Uncle Ben's death, he can't talk about it with anyone, lashes out at Flash and pulls away from Gwen's attempt at comforting him, and even when his life's a little more on track, he still doesn't really talk to anyone about what happened or the affect it had on him. The only person he really opens up to is Gwen, and in some ways, Dr. Connors, but he's generally good at holding people at arm's length until he decides he's comfortable confiding in them. When he doesn't want to be comforted, he pulls away and goes and does something else, because he can't handle the emotion and would rather pretend like everything's fine. Peter tends to run and evade when he doesn't want to do something or when he's upset, because it's easier to run off and be a superhero than sit down and explain to someone why he's so broken up about what happened.
This isn't to say he doesn't want to let people in, or he's incapable of expressing himself, just that both things can be difficult sometimes. He does love his Aunt and Uncle, and despite missing his parents and desperately wanting to know why they left, what they were doing and what happened to them, he does care a hell of a lot for Ben and May, directly telling Uncle Ben that he's a pretty great dad. It's important for him to make sure his uncle knows how much he does care, even if he misses his parents, and that's probably a huge part of why he feels so guilty about what happened to his uncle. He also looks to Dr. Connors as a mentor in some ways at first, and reaches out to him in hopes of getting close to his father and having someone in his life who really understands, and finds himself opening up to Gwen and trusting her with the big secret. Really, Peter wants people to understand where he's coming from, it's just hard to talk about so much of it, which means it's easier to just not say much.
Ever since being bitten and developing superpowers, things have been changing, and while he's still a work in progress, Peter's on the path to really finding out who he is and feeling comfortable and confident in his own skin. As Spider-Man, he's a lot less socially awkward, jumping into a situation and getting what needs to get done, done, with humor and some level of maturity. Peter Parker can still get verbally tripped up when he's around a pretty girl, but even that's mellowed out as time's gone by. He's much more self confident, and can sometimes come off as cocky, often mouthing off witticisms to the criminals he's beating up and generally being a snarky, well meaning hero, who can think and act quickly on the job.
Despite being secretive and playing his cards close to the vest, he's hilariously bad at actually keeping secrets. Again, he's new at the hero thing, and hasn't perfected lying about why he's late to things or how he managed to catch that cup that almost fell off the counter, and this is especially bad when it comes to explaining how and why he comes home every night incredibly late looking like he got mugged. Again, it's easier to just tell people to ignore it and look away, or to run away from them than it is to sit down and flat out say I'm Spider-Man.
He is stupidly smart, and enjoys coming up with little projects to keep busy and helping out around the house when he can. He does have elements of being a bit absent minded professorish sometimes, in that time can get away from him while working, and he has a fairly unbreakable resolve to finish things he starts, even if things get difficult along the way. This applies outside of the classroom/lab as well, or at least, has started to, as he isn't willing to just let the police handle Dr. Connors when he starts going full on Lizard, saying it's his responsibility and he needs to set things right. He doesn't give up for long, even at his lowest point. He'll try to find a new solution and won't stop until one works. And even though he can get distracted and tied up in things, he always does manage to come through in the end for the people he cares about.
Peter's really only just starting to really full appreciate what responsibility and doing good actually mean. He's always been a very well meaning kid - again, he's willing to stand up to bullies even though he knows he'll get hurt for doing it - but he's never had much to take responsibility for anything in his life, because most teenagers don't beyond going to school, not failing out, maybe getting a part time job and doing chores. At first, he let himself be fueled by revenge, and a desire to make himself feel better about stuff he previously felt like he couldn't control, like being bullied by Flash or going after Uncle Ben's murderer. Now he's realizing that he does owe other people his gifts, and he needs to step up and take responsibility for what he's gotten himself involved in if it's going to hurt other people. It's not about making himself feel better, or to be popular, it's about looking out for other people and doing the right thing because he can and should.
Powers/Abilities: After being bitten by a genetically engineered spider (and potentially thanks to his genes already being a little screwy thanks to his dad's research, the movie hasn't explicitly gone into detail about what exactly this means), Peter has developed enhanced strength, speed, flexibility and durability, which basically means he's considerably stronger, faster and harder to squish than a normal human, or even a particularly well trained athlete. He is, however, just as fragile as a normal human when it comes to scrapes, cuts, stab wounds, tasers and bullets, his bones are just a little sturdier.
He also has a 'spider sense', which can act as a sort of hyper awareness or a limited form of precognition. He can't tell what questions are going to be asked on his math test next week, but he can sometimes sense an oncoming attack in a fight before it happens, or notice the little details of things. It's sort of an inconsistent ability, and he isn't in control of when it decides it feels like manifesting itself. His hands and feet can also cling to basically any surface, allowing him to climb on walls and hang on to things no matter how hard people are tugging them away from him.
Peter's always been incredibly, incredibly smart. He's second in his class, and likes to tinker, build and fix stuff around the house. While it's not a superpower, per say, he's excellent with science and math, and has an affinity for photography as well.
Possessions: He's wearing his Spider-Man suit, and had his backpack with him, which has a change of clothes (sneakers, socks, jeans, underwear, a long sleeved shirt, a sweatshirt and a jacket), his mask, his father's glasses, his cellphone, one film camera, two rolls of extra film, some school supplies and a couple extra containers of web for his web slingers, both of which are intact on his suit.
Arrival: The ship is fine!
Reason for Playing: I'd be interested to see Peter getting completely yanked out of his element and how he adjusts to it, especially considering he's still a very young superhero who's kind of getting a feel for how things work. He'll do his best to roll with the punches and probably have to start growing up a bit in this kind of environment, which I think would be fun to play out.

It was strange, how fast stuff could change.
A month ago, the only thing he cared about was just keeping his head down - more or less, the occasional ballsy but perhaps ill thought out attempt to stand up to bullies aside - and getting through high school alive. The biggest concerns he had were finishing his work and getting to class on time, and avoiding said assholes when they decided he was an easy or convenient target.
You know. High school stuff.
But now, none of that really mattered anymore. Or at least, it definitely didn't feel like it did as he sat in the back of his English class and doodled on a blank page in his notebook. It was hard to focus on much of anything to do with Midtown Science right now, not homework, not his teachers, not Flash or Gwen, because he knew the man who murdered his uncle was out there somewhere, and the only reason he wasn't out there right now trying to find him was because he knew he'd get in trouble if he didn't go to class, and he really didn't want to put his aunt through him getting kicked out of school. So he was still trying to just keep his head down and get through the day, but it was different from what it had been like before. He was tired all the time from staying out all night training, and he found himself hiding in his sweatshirt more than usual to try and avoid questions about why his knuckles were all cut up or where the bruises on his face had come from.
Most people left him alone. Everyone knew what had happened to Ben Parker by now, and if Peter wanted to sit in the back of the class quietly, no one was going to push him too hard to get back to normal. Especially since this wasn't exactly too far off from normal anyway.
He tapped his pencil against the paper impatiently, glancing jerkily up at the clock. Another nineteen...ish minutes, and another three classes before he could get out of here. He was itching to get back out, because who knew what he was missing on his police scanner right now, and he'd never be able to live with himself if the one time he wasn't glued to it and hunting down sketchy blonde guys who may or may not have murdered his uncle in cold blood, the police got him. But again. He couldn't cut class.
He realized someone was staring at him and quickly looked down, feeling his face flush slightly when he realized it was Gwen, who gave him a small smile, but he could tell she was paying more attention to the hollow, tired look in his eyes and the bruise on his cheekbone, and wondering where he got it and why he was so worn out.
Peter appreciated it, really. But he couldn't explain what and how and why he was doing what he was doing, not to her, not to anyone, and so he quickly glanced down again, going back to pretending like he was taking notes. She was still staring, he knew she was still staring, but he tried to ignore it until she finally did turn back to the board with a quiet sigh. He glanced up briefly, just to make sure, before tugging the hood of his sweatshirt a little farther down again and counting the seconds until he could get out of here.
