Other Characters: Dick Grayson, Charles Xavier, David 8, Vesper Lynd.
Character Name: Peter Parker
Series: The Amazing Spider-Man
Age: 17
From When?: Right after Captain Stacy's death on top of the OsCorp building.
Inmate/Warden: Warden. Aunt May isn't kidding that if there's one thing Peter Parker is, it's good. He's a good person who always tries to do the right thing, and is the goddamn Spider-Man.
Item: His cellphone.
Abilities/Powers: After being bitten by a genetically engineered spider (and potentially thanks to his genes already being a little screwy thanks to his dad's research, the movie hasn't explicitly gone into detail about what exactly this means), Peter has developed enhanced strength, speed, flexibility and durability, which basically means he's considerably stronger, faster and harder to squish than a normal human, or even a particularly well trained athlete. He is, however, just as fragile as a normal human when it comes to scrapes, cuts, stab wounds, tasers and bullets, his bones are just a little sturdier.
He also has a 'spider sense', which can act as a sort of hyper awareness or a limited form of precognition. He can't tell what questions are going to be asked on his math test next week, but he can sometimes sense an oncoming attack in a fight before it happens, or notice the little details of things. It's sort of an inconsistent ability, and he isn't in control of when it decides it feels like manifesting itself. His hands and feet can also cling to basically any surface, allowing him to climb on walls and hang on to things no matter how hard people are tugging them away from him.
Peter's always been incredibly, incredibly smart. He's second in his class, and likes to tinker, build and fix stuff around the house. While it's not a superpower, per say, he's excellent with science and math, and has an affinity for photography as well.
Personality: Peter does a lot of growing up over the course of the film. He starts off as, and still is very much a teenager, but does start to grow into himself by the end of the movie. He's still a little awkward and doesn't quite know where his place in the world is just yet, although he's starting to get a real idea of it by the time the credits roll, but has spent most of his life feeling a little bit lost and unhappy.
This is largely because his parents left when he was very young, suddenly, and were apparently killed in a plane crash, leaving him with his aunt and uncle. While Ben and May Parker were the best surrogate parents Peter could have asked for, it never really soothed the ache of wondering what had happened and why they left, and as such, Peter's always had a bit of a brooding, unhappy element to him that can rear its head without warning. While he does have a better inkling into why they left now, there are still a lot of unanswered questions he'd liked to be able to ask them, and there's nothing that can really fix that beyond accepting what happened, and he's not quite there yet in a lot of ways. He can put it aside to worry about the five million other things he needs to think about in his day to day life, but if it ever comes up, he'll be just as interested and desperate information as he was when he was younger.
As a smart kid who's kind of a little awkward around people, and not exactly the most social person, Peter didn't have a lot of friends his own age, and is known as a bit of a wallflower in high school. He was picked on by the bullies and ignored by most of the other non nerd students, and in general, kind of went through high school just trying to get through it. Despite all this, he's always had guts. He might not have been the toughest or strongest kid before getting bitten by a genetically engineered spider, but that didn't stop him from sticking up to the bullies and defending other kids when no one else was willing to do it, even if it meant probably getting hurt in the process. And after getting his powers and doing some growing up, he's started to open up a little more to people, too. He doesn't really have the time for a social life now, but he's less miserable and quiet, and thus has an easier time being friendly and more open with his classmates, and people in general.
Peter doesn't handle grief or guilt well, at least initially. He doesn't often talk about his parents, and can get cagey and defensive when they come up. In a lot of ways, this lack of being able to cope well gets even worse after Uncle Ben's death, because Peter feels responsible for what happened and is struggling to find an outlet for all that emotion. He used it to fuel his crime fighting for quite a while, going after criminals who looked like the man who murdered his uncle, and in a process that was mostly trial and error, learned to turn his anger into something more productive. While he's sort of learned his lesson about personal revenge being far less important than helping innocent people who truly need it, there's still some lack of resolution on that chapter of his life that still carries some weight. Peter might have put the search for Uncle Ben's killer on hold, but his sketch is still tacked on his bulletin board in his room, and there's some question about how he'll react if he ever does cross paths with the man who murdered his surrogate father.
In general, he can be secretive, and he does have some trouble letting people into his life, and not just because half his life now involves running around in a mask and tights. When upset, he often likes to be alone, and has a hard time articulating himself, or even wanting to talk about what's upsetting him, often just clamming up and getting the hell out of the situation before he starts actually crying. He can't bring himself to tell his aunt what he's actually doing with his nights despite her worrying about him coming home bruised and cut up every night, because he knows she'll worry more if she knows what he's actually doing. When depressed about Uncle Ben's death, he can't talk about it with anyone, lashes out at Flash and pulls away from Gwen's attempt at comforting him, and even when his life's a little more on track, he still doesn't really talk to anyone about what happened or the affect it had on him. The only person he really opens up to is Gwen, and in some ways, Dr. Connors, but he's generally good at holding people at arm's length until he decides he's comfortable confiding in them. It isn't even related to his level of familiarity with whoever's trying to do the comforting. When he doesn't want to be comforted, he pulls away and goes and does something else, because he can't handle the emotion and would rather pretend like everything's fine. Peter tends to run and evade when he doesn't want to do something or when he's upset, because it's easier to run off and be a superhero than sit down and explain to someone why he's so broken up about what happened, and when he finally is willing to just say alright, I really need a hug, you know he's at the end of his rope.
This isn't to say he doesn't want to let people in, or he's incapable of expressing himself, just that both things can be difficult sometimes. He does love his Aunt and Uncle, and despite missing his parents and desperately wanting to know the full story of why they left, what they were doing and what happened to them, he does care a hell of a lot for Ben and May, directly telling Uncle Ben that he's a pretty great dad. It's important for him to make sure his uncle knows how much he does care and appreciate him, even if he misses his parents, and that's probably a huge part of why he feels so guilty about what happened to his uncle. He also looks to Dr. Connors as a mentor in some ways at first, and reaches out to him in hopes of getting close to his father and having someone in his life who really understands, and finds himself opening up to Gwen and trusting her with the big secret. Really, Peter wants people to understand where he's coming from, it's just hard to talk about so much of it, which means it's easier to just not say much.
Ever since being bitten and developing superpowers, things have been changing, and while he's still a work in progress, Peter's on the path to maturity and growing to feel comfortable and confident in his own skin. As Spider-Man, he's a lot less socially awkward, jumping into a situation and getting what needs to get done, done, with humor and some level of maturity. Peter Parker can still get verbally tripped up when he's around a pretty girl, but even that's mellowed out as time's gone by. He's much more self confident, and can sometimes come off as cocky, often mouthing off witticisms to the criminals he's beating up and generally being a snarky, well meaning hero, who can think and act quickly on the job. Having unusual abilities doesn't scare him, it makes him feel special and empowered, because he can do stuff no one else can and use it to help other people. Also, it's just fun to be able to swing from building to building without turning into a literal bug on a windshield.
Despite being secretive and playing his cards close to the vest, he's hilariously bad at actually keeping secrets. Again, he's new at the hero thing, and hasn't perfected lying about why he's late to things or how he managed to catch that cup that almost fell off the counter, and this is especially bad when it comes to explaining how and why he comes home every night incredibly late looking like he got mugged. Again, it's easier to just tell people to ignore it and look away, or to run away from them than it is to sit down and flat out say I'm Spider-Man.
He is stupidly smart, and enjoys coming up with little projects to keep busy and helping out around the house when he can. He does have elements of being a bit absent minded professorish sometimes, in that time can get away from him while working, and he has a fairly unbreakable resolve to finish things he starts, even if things get difficult along the way. This applies outside of the classroom/lab as well, as he isn't willing to just let the police handle Dr. Connors when he starts going full on Lizard, saying it's his responsibility and he needs to set things right. He doesn't give up for long, even at his lowest point. He'll try to find a new solution and won't stop until one works. And even though he can get distracted and tied up in things, he always does manage to come through in the end for the people he cares about. He's not bad at tactics, either, despite being untrained, probably due in part to his enhanced instincts, which makes him a talented fighter and able to get himself out of almost any situation.
Peter's really only just starting to really full appreciate what responsibility and doing good actually mean. He's always been a very well meaning kid - again, he's willing to stand up to bullies even though he knows he'll get hurt for doing it - but he's never had much to take responsibility for anything in his life, because most teenagers don't beyond going to school, not failing out, maybe getting a part time job and doing chores. At first, he let himself be fueled by revenge, and a desire to make himself feel better about stuff he previously felt like he couldn't control, like being bullied by Flash or going after Uncle Ben's murderer. Now he's realizing that he does owe other people his gifts, and he needs to step up and take responsibility for what he's gotten himself involved in if it's going to hurt other people. It's not about making himself feel better, or to be popular, it's about looking out for other people and doing the right thing because he can and should.
Barge Reactions: Peter will probably be somewhere between freaking out, totally curious and interested, and trying to act cool about all the stuff going on on the Barge. He might slip up and fourth wall someone by accident (with ooc permission, of course) and want to get involved in the science departments on board, probably, or at least talk to people who are doing research into the Barge phenomena and help them out if they'll let him.
As a warden, Peter will... honestly have a fairly rocky start. While he has been through a lot lately, he's still a teenager, and he's never been in a position where he's had to have a relationship like this with another person before. He's tried to help people and damage control situations, but never really stuck with someone for a long time and been expected to be the responsible, mature one. He will try, though, and won't be afraid to ask people for help if he needs it, once he's got some decent cr established with them. He will probably try to strike a balance between being available to talk to without being overbearing, and might try and get them to open up through building a more rapport with them first, rather than immediately grilling them about their issues and trying to get them to see what they've done wrong.
I could see him working well with just about any kind of inmate he can have some sort of connection to, and age and gender really aren't an issue for him long term, even though he might start off being a little wat do with an older inmate. He'll try to find common ground that works for both of them, and while it's potentially likely most inmates will find the gangly, stuttering Peter Parker not all that impressive as a warden, once he's able to get over his initial awkwardness, he'll hopefully inspire more confidence.
He'll also be someone who wants to help out in a crisis. He definitely won't step up for a leadership role the same way someone like Cap or Dick would, but if someone needs help, he won't hesitate to swoop in and do whatever he can, and will also likely offer to take on supporting roles in any bigger team efforts going on, if a more leader-y type steps up and starts barking out orders. He will try (keyword, try) to keep his identity as Spider-Man secret (and for that reason, I'd appreciate fourth walling being kept to a minimum when he's first introduced), but considering it's Peter and he's hilariously bad at covering that up, it's pretty likely that people will figure out who he is and what he can do pretty quickly, and he'll warm up to the idea of being more "out" as a superhero when there are other people on board in a similar position, who never had secret identities in the first place, or just don't care if Peter Parker's not just a normal scrawny high school student.

Sample Journal Entry:
[Peter is sitting at his desk in his room, legs pulled up onto the chair and crossed in front of him. It's a sort of awkward fit - Peter's as tall as he is skinny - but it doesn't quite look uncomfortable. His face is a little scraped up, and while he doesn't really look upset, the repetitive way he's drumming his fingers on his knee - actually drumming, like his index fingers are drumsticks - kind of suggests he's a little on edge and twitchy.
Someone had a weird port.]
So... Movie night. Doesn't that get weird, after you're here for a while? I mean, we were just in Jurassic Park. I've seen that movie like a hundred times before I got here, and I never thought it actually existed somewhere. Almost everyone on board's been told by someone that they're fictional where they come from. Should movie night even be a thing? [It's kind of a ridiculous suggestion, and he knows it, so he shakes his head a little, leaning back from his desk slightly and stopping the knee drumming, letting out a deep breath.]
Sorry, it's just, you know. Weird having people say they know stuff about you from a comic book. [And he manages a sort of wry, sort of disbelieving smile, because seriously what the fuck was that port.] While you're running away from a T-Rex.
[He rubs a hand over his face, tired, and leans in like he's about to switch the video feed off, but pulls back at the last second, remembering something else he'd been meaning to ask people about since they got back from port.]
Also, if anyone's seen a film camera lying around which may or may not have raptor bite marks on it, that's mine. Thanks.
[He smiles sort of sheepishly before clicking off the camera.]
Sample RP:
The lab wasn't exactly OsCorp - it was smaller, and obviously there were less people working here - but it was still pretty cool. One of the best things about being on board so far had been getting to work with all the high tech stuff people brought with them or knew about, and he definitely had been taking advantage of it. The lab had been empty when he entered, and he was currently sitting at a table jotting some notes down in a notebook he'd grabbed from his room and making short work of a packet of M&Ms. Someone's project was slowly bubbling away on a desk a couple feet away, but he definitely wasn't stupid enough to touch it. He had a funny feeling the next time he caused a minor lab accident, it wouldn't end with him getting superpowers.
Suddenly, the ship rumbled violently, startling Peter and rattling the beakers and other equipment. The ship lurched, and as Peter tried to brace himself against the desk, grabbing a couple of the papers as they started to slide to the floor.
And, of course, it was right at that moment when he heard the resounding crash as whatever had been bubbling away in the complicated glass structure - glass, seriously, why would you leave a highly breakable science project just sitting around in a place where accidents happened on an hourly basis? - tumbled to the floor and shattered. Smoke immediately began billowing from the site, way more than should have been expected, quickly billowing through the room.
"Oh, no no no no-"
He coughed, eyes watering, and it didn't take a genius to know he should be getting out and out now, because whatever it was was probably someone's mad science project now gone horribly wrong, and he wasn't really in the mood to stick around and see what it could do.
So he scrambled out of the room, coughing and choking, throwing the door open and slamming it tight behind him, hoping the lab would be airtight. But, you know, then again, this was the Barge, and anything easy and logical like that was often something the Admiral overlooked until someone specifically asked for it to change.
Sort of a weird policy to have.
"No one panic! Everything's fine!"
Which was admittedly being a little undermined by the fact that his eyes were still streaming and it felt like he'd just tried breathing through a car exhaust pipe. He kept coughing and pushed off the door, taking a few stumbling steps down the hallway, half blinded by tears, planning on hunting down one of the other wardens with projects in the lab and asking them what the hell they should do when he crashed into someone. He stumbled back, coughing, swiping at his stinging eyes and trying to see who he'd smacked into.
"Oh God, I'm sorry, are you okay?"
