[Spam for the Infirmary]

[Being shot in the thigh is a strangely familiar experience for Peter Parker. Being poisoned with wolfsbane and spending a while hallucinating and incredibly nauseous is less so, but thanks to his enhanced metabolism, he winds up more or less okay symptom free in about an hour or two. (He makes a mental note to try and do some more research into how well he actually resists poisons and stuff like that.)

So for the first day after our latest vacation to Mirror Barge, Peter can be found napping in a hospital bed, playing Angry Birds on his phone, or inquiring after his friends and the general state of the ship. His right arm is heavily bandaged, and he's careful to keep weight off his leg, but otherwise, he actually seems kind of cheerful, if a little sedated.

A day or so later, and he'll be trying to hobble out on crutches if no one stops him.]

I have to wonder who got the drop on you. [It's okay, he'll smile right back. Sarcasm war!] What'd they do, anyway? Kneecaps, spinal bruising?

Maybe. Why, trying to figure out if I'm hurt enough to make this a fair fight?

I'd ask why you assume people see you and are overcome with the urge to hurt you, but...

[his gaze flicks over Peter's still-healing body.]

Perhaps you aren't simply being paranoid.

[Peter just shrugs, and doesn't drop the attitude. Apparently he doesn't need the mask or anything to act like a dumbass.]

Well, that, and from our last conversation, I kinda got the impression you didn't like me much.

I won't pretend I do. You've clearly allied yourself with Bond; that's an issue I can't simply overlook.

I assume those [the injuries] weren't his doing?

[That's probably fair enough. He's just also pretty satisfied with the side he wound up picking, here.]

Nope. I didn't really see him during the thing.

Not surprising. Still...I think he does worry after you. In his own way. Shall we test that?

[Alec is fast, and well-trained. But that's not much use against superhuman senses, and he hasn't got the slightest idea that Peter has those when he lashes out, meaning to pop a rib with his fist.]

[Well, shit just got real. Fortunately, a bullet wound to the thigh doesn't seem to have done anything to dampen his reflexes, so Peter sees (and honestly expected from the get go) the punch coming and drops the crutches so he can grab Alec's wrist, turn and throw him to the ground.

His leg smarts, he's maybe torn some stitches, and it definitely doesn't really want to be getting treated like this just now, but he's fought with way worse injuries before, and it holds his weight when he steps back, ready for another attack.]

Nah see, I don't really think we need to? Because he so knows I can take care of myself.

[This, too, is not the worst pain Alec has had. He could fight with a broken wrist if he had to. But he knows enough to know he doesn't want to snap his bones for the hell of it, so for now, he behaves. At least until Peter steps away.]

You won't always be able to. I'm sure you know that, living here...

[He gives him a pitying look, even though Alec is the one still on the ground, on his side. Which gives him the perfectly deceptive position he prefers; it allows him to hook one foot behind Peter's ankle, and the other foot to slam toward his knee. That will be a hell of an injury, if the kick lands; and even if it doesn't, there's a good chance his other foot will trip Peter up.]

[Peter does let go and step away, but again, his - he doesn't really know what to call it, the buzzing in the back of his head that usually seems to know hey, this is gonna be bad, maybe you should move a little to the left rightttt about now - kicks in, and so he sidesteps the kick and sort of just goes with the trip, turning it into an excuse to do a backhand spring way faster than any normal scrawny looking, freakishly tall seventeen year old should be able to do.

Okay, definitely straining the stitches, but nothing he can't patch up himself once he's convinced Alec this is a pretty terrible idea. He straightens and brushes himself off.]

Oh, I don't know, I'm pretty resourceful. I'm actually kinda surprised you didn't already know, I've been kinda terrible at keeping it secret.
