[Spam for the Infirmary]
[Being shot in the thigh is a strangely familiar experience for Peter Parker. Being poisoned with wolfsbane and spending a while hallucinating and incredibly nauseous is less so, but thanks to his enhanced metabolism, he winds up more or less okay symptom free in about an hour or two. (He makes a mental note to try and do some more research into how well he actually resists poisons and stuff like that.)
So for the first day after our latest vacation to Mirror Barge, Peter can be found napping in a hospital bed, playing Angry Birds on his phone, or inquiring after his friends and the general state of the ship. His right arm is heavily bandaged, and he's careful to keep weight off his leg, but otherwise, he actually seems kind of cheerful, if a little sedated.
A day or so later, and he'll be trying to hobble out on crutches if no one stops him.]

Hey, I'm still kinda blown away most of us are from Earth, and like, know what that is. Or like, most of us know what the United States is, you know? There're like, a million different ways that could've worked out differently.

That is...actually true. [With some difficulty he moves so he's on his bak instead; he doesn't feel up to sitting, but it's slightly easier to converse this way. As that is apparently what they are doing.] Have to admit though I'm relieved it worked out that way. Perhaps that's xenophobic of me.

Dude, no, I'm right there with you. Like, as much as I like Star Trek? Kind of don't want to be making first contact every couple days with some person who's going to get offended because I'm eating in front of them, and that's like, considered gross where they're from.

If cultural taboos are the first thing you're thinking about, you're being downright uncreative. This ship was clearly set up with humans, or at the very least carbon-based humanoids in mind. What if that hadn't been the case?

Then the Admiral would've given us EV suits or something, and we'd all be pretty miserable. I feel like the culture thing's more likely, honestly. Maybe there's a different Barge for people who don't breathe oxygen.

How many of these things do you think there could possibly be? [Three second pause while he considers that.] Actually, on second thought, don't answer. I don't think I want to think about it.

Well, not the crazy friend part, hopefully, but I guess I've actually kinda been there, too.

[He's irritated and terse, though at least it's not directly at Peter.]
Because I would argue that no, it doesn't seem to get any much worse than this.
infirmary spam
That was worse. [And he sounds more firm about that than anything else, but there's maybe an undercurrent of anger, or lingering sadness or something.]

[He slinks down further in his cot, lifting both hands to press the heels of his palms over his eyes, massaging his temples.]
But right now, I don't even want to think about it. For once I think I might be better off not to know.

Sorry. Didn't mean for stuff to get all heavy.

[If he sounds snappish it's only because he's tired and frustrated in general, it's got nothing to do with Peter.]
And I'm sorry...for bothering you. I'll let you get back to your little game. [And him to his halfhearted bordering on desperate attempts for rest.]

[He'll definitely be keeping the volume off, if that helps in your misery at all.]
