[So, as it turns out? Running into things without really giving proper thought to the consequences is a terrible idea, which is a lesson you'd think Peter would have learned by now.

But, he didn't, which is why when the Admiral offered him the deal on the roof of the OsCorp tower, he'd taken the deal without thinking about it. Which meant he was currently on the floor of his room in his Spider-Man costume, sans mask, bruised and cut up and with a bullet in his thigh which was reallyyyy starting to hurt.

A couple minutes later, he'd managed to get himself out of his costume and into a t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants and found his comm. He clicks on the video feed and fumbles with it a little, finally getting it so everyone's got a pretty good look at his face. There are cuts and scrapes all over his face, most of which look pretty fresh and some look pretty nasty, and there are definitely some bruises forming.]

Hi, um- [He blinks and rubs a hand over his eyes, trying to focus.] Is there a doctor or... Something on board? I could kinda use a hand.

[ooc: Alex and Tim have dibs on getting him to the infirmary, but feel free to ask him what the hell happened. He'll have a more official intro going up tomorrow or the day after. c:]

I got shot? [There, he corrected it. He takes Tim's hand and carefully tries to get back up, groaning as he put any amount of weight on his bad leg. It hurt a lot now that the adrenaline had worn off, but he really didn't want to pass out either.

It took him a moment to get his breath back, and he was leaning pretty heavily on the wall.]

It was an accident. Things got kind of... crazy.

[Tim didn't push: mostly he was just eying the leg to see how bad the bleeding was. And there was seriously not enough blood on those sweatpants; Peter had changed before getting on the network.

That was interesting.

Turning to put himself on the other teen's bad side, he pulled Peter's arm over his shoulders.]

Apparently. Come on, you can lean on me. [What are you. 8|]

[A freakishly tall teenager. That's it. B(

He didn't need to be told twice, even if the angle was a little awkward because of the height difference. Walking to the infirmary seemed like a pretty awful idea all of a sudden.

And he really needed to come up with a better excuse for what the hell happened to him.] Thanks.

[oh yeah he buys that B(]

Sure.

[Aaand he walks in silence, for a little while, until you know what? He's just gonna ask. Totally neutral.] So where did you stash your other clothes?

[Peter's just focusing on putting one foot in front of another, because everything hurts and all he wants to do is go lie down somewhere for a while. Tim's question catches him totally off guard, and he can't help it - he visibly startles.]

[Bro you have the worst poker face 8|]

Shot in the leg? [He nods down at the bloody spot on Peter's sweat pants.] You'd be bleeding pretty heavily. Come on, down the stairs.

[Man, stairs are the fucking worst. B( Peter at least appreciates the distraction for now, because he really has no idea how to answer that. He should be bleeding pretty badly, but he'd put pressure on the injury and bandaged it up as best he could with his web, but he couldn't just say that.]

It happened a while ago. It's complicated.

Uh-huh. [He doesn't push but he does not remotely believe it.] It's two floors down. You can lean as much as you need to, I'm pretty sure I can hold you up.

[Maybe if he stays a step behind Peter it'll help the height difference B(]

Okay. [Focusing on that is easier than worrying about what he's supposed to tell people, and he's too worn out to stress about that right now. He wasn't sure how long he'd be able to stay vertical or not trip down the stairs.]

[ Alex would say, unkindly, that this is something to keep him occupied until he gets a permanent placement. But honestly, he's heard pain in a person's voice before, and that? That was some serious pain. ]

[ . . . which explains why there's a guy basically falling down the stairs and bleeding from - he can't quite tell what, but something huge. Alex starts up and then waits at the bottom, looking at them both with a frown. ]

Good, you're still conscious. [ He tips his chin at Tim like, huh this sure is happening isn't it?? ] You still need another hand?

[This sure is happening, bro, and guess what the tall gangly one is totally a liar.

Tim thinks about saying he's got it, but he doesn't see a reason to turn down help, so he nods.]

Wouldn't mind it, [he says dryly, and looks up at Peter.] You don't, do you? [It's cool dude, he won't say anything.]

[Peter's pretty sure he's about three seconds from toppling down the stairs. He's shaky and tired, and his leg really hurts, so he shakes his head immediately.] More the merrier.

[At least this way, if he does fall down the stairs, there are already two people here to drag him the rest of the way to the infirmary. Tim doing it on his own seemed sort of unfair.]

[ He smiles a little, tightly, because yeah, that looks like a gunshot wound. ]

Make it a party.

[ There's not much room on the steps, so Tim is gonna be stuck on catching-the-fainting-spider-duty for another minute or two, but Alex stays a couple steps below, watching for swaying, tumbling, etc., and keeps half an eye on the corridor at the bottom of the stairs. ]

How much blood have you lost? [ So he can, you know, time when you're gonna faint. ]

[Peter manages a thin smile in return, because, well.]

I wasn't really keeping track. [Maybe he should do a little more research into how fast you lost blood when a major artery hadn't been severed. At least it didn't seem that bad, all things considered.] It happened maybe half an hour ago.

[He stops at the bottom of the stairs and takes several deep breaths, trying to keep his weight off his leg. Maybe he shouldn't have taken the makeshift pressure bandage when he'd pulled off his costume.]

You wouldn't be standing if it was too much, [he points out, and is more than happy to make room for Alex to grab Peter's other side.]

A bandage, lots of fluids, and rest will put you back on your feet. [To do whatever you do Tim will find out B( He doesn't point out that the bigger worry is permanent damage. No need to freak anyone out.]

[ He's on it, lifting Peter's arm over his shoulder. This close-to, he sees the cuts and bruises. Looking more like a beating, less like an accident, if a gunshot would in the leg could even theoretically be an accident. ]

Yeah, and then you're probably gonna have a lot of explaining to do. Maybe some hovering. [ And gloating, depending on who caught that dramatic broadcast, but that's not a good awkward distraction so he leaves it. ]

[Peter will still be insisting it was an accident. The gashes on his face and neck could be blamed on glass and debris just as easily as they could be blamed on being batted around like a ping pong ball by a giant lizard, right? Right. They didn't need to know how it actually happened.]

Yeah, I'll try to go over the details once I'm not gonna fall on my face. [He sounds like he's joking, but he does know he needs to come up with an explanation and he probably owes them that much, considering he's leaning on both of them pretty heavily by now and wouldn't be shocked if he was getting a little blood on them.]

[Tim will probably try some subtle grilling when the whole 'maybe kinda shot' thing was taken care of.

And Alex isn't escaping notice either, most people are not this chill around someone who's been shot.]

Just focus on one foot in front of the other, [Tim is definitely reaching for the litany of 'things you say when people are bleeding really badly.'] Just one more level.

[ Alex isn't really talking anymore, just focusing on keeping Peter moving, supporting a good amount of his weight on his shoulder. The whole walking thing isn't going to work for much longer, so he moves them along as quickly as he can without putting too much strain on Peter. ]

[Not talking definitely seemed like a good idea. He was starting to feel like he was going to pass out, or at least kind of hovering in that territory, and damn, what was his plan to get off the building again? It's not like he could just wait for the cops to show up and take him to the hospital in his costume.

He shook his head, trying to clear it, breathing hard and trying not to groan too pathetically when he moved his leg. He really should have thought this through a little better.]

It's gonna be okay, [Tim said quietly, before lapsing into silence himself. He could hear the groan, see the signs. If they didn't get there quick, he and Alex were going to be carrying him. So he picked up the pace, just a little, trying to shift so Peter could put more weight on him; the height difference made it hard. But as they made it down the last of the stairs, he nodded toward the infirmary. It was in sight, now, they could make it.]

Don't put weight on it. [ This after what felt like an eternity of silence. He didn't like this at all, but at least there was help close. ] Just - [ He readjusted his grip, lips tight. ] Five steps, just lean on us, all right?

[He knew he should probably just give in and pass out before he screwed up his leg anymore, but he was stubborn and didn't just want to be dragged the rest of the way, even if he ended up closing his eyes to stop the hallway from wobbling. He thought about nodding, but he didn't really have the energy for it and just kept walking.] Right.

[By the time they got to the infirmary, Peter was basically all but out of it, leaning heavily on Alex and Tim.]

[ Every day's a new surprise. Manning the desk at the moment and fussing with paperwork is one Dr. Bruce Banner; he glances up when he hears the door open, and is then on his feet a moment later to help with Peter's weight. ]

New arrival? Came in a bit beat, didn't he?

You could say that, [Tim said dryly, grateful to hand off the baton, so to speak. It wasn't that he couldn't hold Peter up, if he had to - it was that he was short, Peter was tall, and the angle really sucked.]

He was kinda maybe shot. [Nope, never letting that go, Pete.]
