![]() | [Filtered to the Crew of the Redeemer] [Peter - who looks a little younger and scruffier than his Barge counterpart, as in his hair's longer and his clothes are a little too big for him and definitely in need of a wash - clicks on the video feed and smiles sort of nervously, like a kid asking for permission to borrow his dad's car for the first time, and, really, that's not too too far off from what he's doing here.] So, I know we've apparently got company on the other side of the island, but- [And again, he looks a little sheepish, because he really should be waiting for orders before saying something like this to everyone, but.] I thought maybe it might be a good idea to go scouting and see if there's anything we need on the island? Like food, or some more fresh water or something? [He quickly tacks on another question.] Unless someone needs me for something on board the ship? [See look, he's task oriented and stuff! But no seriously, he just wants to get off the boat.] [Spam for the Beach] [Not long after making the message, Peter isn't sticking around to have anyone tell him otherwise and is scrambling off the boat and onto the beach. He's not really sure what he's planning on doing or what he hopes to find here - well, actually, he's definitely got some ideas, but even he's able to admit that some of them border on completely out of the question/way too fanciful, so there's that - but he really just wants to get out and about and stretch his legs a little. When his feet hit the sand and he readjusts to being on dry land again, he casts about looking for anyone else who'd been ordered off the ship or just decided to appreciate the fact that they were somewhere other than the naval vessel and more or less out of each other's hair for the time being. He didn't see any sign of the pirates, which he figures is a good thing, and starts looking around for the people he's become friendly with in his time on board, namely Alex, because he was usually more or less friendly and didn't mind Peter hanging around as long as he was willing to help out when necessary, which he almost always was.] [ooc: Peter is a fifteenish year old orphan turned cabin boy who really just does odd jobs on board and tries to keep busy/out of the way as much as possible. He doesn't hate being part of the navy, he's definitely a little enchanted by/actually believes in all those old folklore-y tales and kind of wants to find buried treasure. Because that would be cool.] |

[ Please say kick some ass, she wants to so bad. ]
[ ooc: Here, Peter, have a navigator who also happens to be pretty handy with a pistol. Of which she generally carries two. Generally known as a bit of a carouser, occasionally makes stupid mistakes when there isn't much going on but is really good in a tough situation. ]

I didn't mean I'd be going alone.

You out on the beach?
video
[Don't yell at him for not waiting for permission. :v]

So guess who's dropping out of a porthole and there's frakking land under her feet this is really excellent. She shades her eyes and glances around for him, and if she doesn't see him immediately, heads for the treeline. ]

He hasn't wandered too far and waves when he spots her.] There are a couple shells floating around, so there should at least be coconuts, I guess.
spam
All right, hustle, let's get out of here before someone notices we're missing.
[ Not that she's all that eager to get off the beach. It's beautiful. The kind of thing she dreamed about when she signed up for the Navy and got to see maybe once or twice this whole time. ]

Do you seriously think we're going to run into any of the pirates?
spam
We might. They're less disciplined. Probably off their ship already and trying to sack the jungle.
[ Pirates sack things, right? ]

spam
Do you think there's any treasure buried around here?
spam
Hey Alex, wait up!
spam
Escaped, did you?
spam
No, there's never any real treasure. Pirates don't hide their treasure. They spend it.
[ She's pretty sure about this. ]
Are those coconuts, over there?
Spam;

But the question about fresh fruit - nuts? what were coconuts, anyway? - gets his mind off that for a while and he peers off in the distance, squinting to try and get a better look.]
Looks like it. How many do you think we should take?
spam
I asked permission first! [Sort of. :V]
Spam;
... Or maybe not.]
Hello?

[ She gives him an appraising look. ]
How are you at climbing trees?
spam
[Although from the look on his face, whether that's him trying to sound confident versus actually having any faith in being able to accomplish that is sort of up in the air.]
Spam;
Spam;
What, that's it? You're no fun at all! I thought humans were more superstitious than that.
spam
Okay, let's see it, then.
spam
[He super doesn't believe you. But oh well!]
Where are you off to?
spam
That said, he approaches the tree, thinks about it for a long moment, and starts climbing up. He's definitely not the most confident climber, and there is definitely one borderline catastrophic slip, but he does manage to get to the top of the tree. So there. B)] How's that?
spam
[Fresh air and not having to wake up to people's smelly feet in your face from the hammock above you = fantastic, ok ok.]
What about you?
Spam;
You can talk?
Spam;
Oh, sweetie, I can do more than just talk. I could sing if you like.
spam
[aka ADVENTURE!!]
Spam;
You're not one of those mermaids who's going to enchant me and try to drown me when she sings, are you?
spam
Which, actually, speaking of which.]
Did you hear about the pirates?
spam
[He grins.]
Is that what you'd like to see?
Spam;
spam
...I think you have a gift.
Spam;

[He doesn't sound all that bothered by the prospect, though.]
Do you think there's any treasure on the island? Or their ship? I mean, hypothetically.
spam
[He tries to secure himself to start actually retrieving the fruit, which is slightly more difficult and he definitely looks a little precariously balanced, but he manages.] Do you want me to just toss them down? I don't want to hit you by accident.
Spam;
spam
[ She holds up her hands to catch. ]
Go ahead, hit me, I can take it.
spam
Hypothetically - want to go see?
spam
[He's still careful when he starts tossing them down, waiting to make sure she can watch him do it before dropping one. He doesn't want to have to explain why their navigator's been concussed any more than she wants to explain a cabin boy with broken ankles.]
spam
[Well, part of him kind of didn't, because what if it was horrible and they got in over their heads, but. Most of him was totally on board for this.
He picks up the pace, eager and enthusiastic.]
So, where do you think they'd be? Do you think they've got any treasure hidden here? Pirates do do that, right?
Spam;
spam
And if there's not treasure I might cry.
