Crazy question, but does anyone want to breathe down this guy's neck a little until he gets his own warden? I don't think this time out's really going to teach him much of a lesson and I don't think anyone else needs to get hurt.

[Peter is still bad about asking for help. Like, really bad at it. But he's super angry and still remembers being grabbed and threatened and being absolutely fucking terrified thanks to the flood, and he doesn't really know how to deal with all of it.

Like, at all. And he's apparently supposed to be better at reaching out to people now, but there's still a lot of hesitation and reluctance to actually be around people right now.

Except he did just sort of imply that he got in a fight even if that's not really true, so. Might as well reassure people, he guesses.]

It's tempting. But I don't know enough about the scope of it. Applying cosmic power without working out all the ramifications first is how I got into this mess.

Seeks it? No. But I do think he'll give me what I ask for, and I'm pretty sure I'm capable of screwing it up all on my own.

You don't trust yourself.

You want me to fix something broken? I can do it. Anything, full stop, if I have the pieces I can fix it.

But my record is a little spottier when it comes to actually helping.

Because helping is not simply a matter of assisting. You must take care to make certain you will not make things worse.

Yeah, that's the catch.

And it means I need to know more variables than I do.

And how do you suppose to discover those variables while cloistered here, far away from your former life?

Figure it out quickly, then. Time may be running out and the window to make meaningful decisions is short.

The only reason you have to believe it's urgent is because I told you. But you think I don't think it's urgent enough.

I think you should come to a decision as quickly as possible, in order to leave yourself the proper amount of time to plan that decision.

If you're not able to reconsider your decisions, you'll probably learn to regret them.
