[Peter shows up a few minutes later holding a laptop, which he sets down on the coffee table and crouches near, glancing over his shoulder at Bleu with a small smile before prepping the DVD.]

[She sits up and leans forward, resting her chin on her hands and her elbows on her knees.]

1891. What kind of film is a Pixar?

That's the name of the company that makes them. They're animated, kid friendly movies.

I've read about animated movies but never seen one.

Oh yes. In fact I have one. [She's proud of that little betta; it's one of the best gifts she's ever gotten.]

Okay, so-

[He clicks through to the menu and starts the movie, handing the laptop over so she can look at it.]

A normal animated movie is just like, flat pictures overlaid on top of each other really quickly to make it look like they're moving. This is something you program in the computer and tell it what to do and what to look like. You still need to be artsy and stuff, but it's different because you're not doing it by hand.

[She holds the laptop awkwardly before leaning back and setting it on her knees, watching the movie opening with a curious look on her face.]

It's all so smooth and molded. It almost looks like painted clay; how does the computer make that? Is it sculpted from something?
