I guess that answers any questions about whether or not I wanted to be an extra in Master and Commander. [Although, really.] That said, it definitely could have been worse. I mean, can you imagine if we ever got stuck somewhere like that, permanently? I'd take running water and modern medicine over pirates any day, I don't care how cool Jack Sparrow makes it look.

I don't think there's anything broadcasting on it, but if you have a DVD you can watch it. You might be able to find an old VHS player around here somewhere too.

Only if you tell me why. When I was your age, people came to blows over this.

Well, I mean, Han's pretty cool. He's got the ship, he gets the girl, his best friend's a Wookie, he turns out to be a pretty awesome guy, but Luke's a Jedi and you know, he blows up the Death Star and grows up a lot. I'd be pretty psyched to be either of them.

[Really, everyone wants to be Han, but Peter sees a lot of himself in Luke lbr. B(]

[Peter Parker is pretty much a snarkier and more intelligent Luke, it's true.]

[But Selina grins, head tilted.] Yeah? Do you want to blow up the Death Star or get the girl more?

[Peter laughs.] Oh man, that's tough. I guess blow up the Death Star, I mean, you're basically saving the world.

Mmm, good call. Always take the glory. You have the earmarks of a real hero, now.

I wouldn't do it for the glory. It's just the right thing to do.

That's sweet.

But there's no such thing. Equal and opposite reaction, sparky...you never know what your good deeds are really doing.

Besides, you can't live your whole life for other people.

No, but if you're capable of helping other people, you should do it. Period. You have a responsibility to.

A responsibility to who? To the thugs, the murderers and rapists? Most people aren't worth your time, sweet thing.

To the people they're going to hurt.

If only those people weren't also thieves, murderers, and at the least utterly self-absorbed. The idea of 'innocent people' seems overrated to me. [But she believes, against her will, in some of what he's saying and she can't hide that in her tone.]
