[The video is upside down. Or, rather, Peter is sitting in a ceiling corner in the level six common room, upside down, and you're getting a weird camera angle as a result. Feel free to adjust your screens accordingly.]

You know, [He starts off, sounding generally more conversational and maybe slightly bored than anything else. Not having an inmate or much really to do is kind of wearing on him.] I know it's like, the butt of every joke imaginable, but Dungeons and Dragons? Way more fun than just sitting around here waiting for the next disaster port to hit, and I don't really think it deserves the bad rep it gets. Crazy, I know, but you might even enjoy it if you gave it a shot.

I mean, a few of you I wouldn't necessarily want to be Dungeon Master or anything - I've seen people who aren't world leaders turn into power crazy psychos, figure we don't need to dump gasoline on any fires - but seriously, might be a decent way to kill some time.

Orrrr anyone got Scattergories? Or Pictionary or something? The copy of Monopoly I found stashed under the television's missing most of the pieces, but honestly, Monopoly is pretty much the worst board game ever invented anyway. Probably not worth tracking down the top hat piece.

[ooc: Peter is affected. c:]

Thank you. [Soft, and sincere.] I'm sure I'll get that eventually.

[A low, hoarse laugh.] Seems to be. Makes sense, I guess.

You need a certain flavour of guilt to go out fighting crime in tights. ...And arrogance, possibly.

Well, most people wouldn't think - punching out guys with guns? Yeah, I can do that.

...It probably makes more sense with powers.

I had a black belt and that was about it.

When I was little - super heroes were an escape. Pretending I could save the world, make a difference. Then I go to Gotham, and it has its very own. [A slow, wistful smile.] Batman was - it's hard to explain, if you're not from my world. He made it seem like our city had hope.

And my Dad - I saw him dealing with all the corruption, all the red tape. I saw how much he couldn't do. That's why he worked with Batman in the first place.

It kind of got backburnered for a while - I had school, I got a job, I moved out on my own. But then - well, there was this costume ball. And I figured it'd be a laugh, dressing up as Batgirl.

...Well. Not that he told me. I'm pretty sure he knows who everyone is, he just needs plausible deniability.

[She smiles, faint and wistful.] I do, actually. Well - he was a private investigator by then, but he started out in the GCPD.

It's...they need to decide some things for themselves. How much they're ready to know, how much they're ready to deny. It depends on the rest of the department, too - the official stance on vigilantes.

Mostly, I'd say...be as honest with each other as you can. Supplement each other, instead of working at cross-purposes.

The personal side is harder. It's easier to compartmentalise, when people only know you as one or the other. You'll need to figure out what works for you as you go.

[She just looks at him, for a moment, before laughing, low and soft.]

Sounds like it. Does he know about your deal?

You should talk to her. She knows him better than either of us. And if he loves her - he ought to respect her opinion. Her choices.

Is he the kind of guy who'd put his comfort about her happiness?
