[Private to Bond]

[So. Two things.

1. Peter did not expect to be paired this quickly.

And 2. Peter did not expect his inmate to be James freaking Bond. How are you supposed to warden James Bond? He knew there were people like that on board after talking with Kay - and really, kind of a bummer he hadn't been handed like, Darth Vader's file or something, but hey - but it was still totally unexpected. He'd thought he'd end up with someone who was like, a car thief or a serial killer or basically someone he'd never heard of before, and this was kind of crazy.

Still, he reads the file quickly and doesn't take long after that to get in touch with him over the network, kind of excited to get started on this.]

So- [Oh crap. What is he supposed to call you? Mr. Bond? Bond? James? ... Jimmy?

Okay wait, he's chickening out of committing to a name for now.] We should probably talk.

So, obviously I'm kind of new at this whole thing, and I'm not usually one for gossip, but if anyone's got any information on stuff I should know [Oh crap oh crap seriously Parker you need to decide on what you're going to call him sooner rather than later.] about my inmate, you know, like. From before I got here? Let me know.

No he is not answering, he is just heading right up to the fourth floor, you so firmly on his shit list already Parker, you better be there with the file B(]

[He is there, and he does have the file - the hard copy, anyway. He's already got a back up copy because he's like 95% sure you're going to try and punch him and take the file and not give it back.

And again, his face still looks like a mess, but he can put weight on his leg without feeling like he's going to keel over and die, so he seems better than he was, at least. Oh, and he's wearing his glasses.

You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would you, Mr. Bond?]

[He would absolutely hit a guy with glasses. He would punch that guy square in the nose. Bond just looks him over as he approaches, takes his measure. And notices pretty quickly that he's taller, and that's slightly annoying.

Doesn't stop him from holding his hand out for that file, though.]

Mister Parker. [Something is familiar about that name.]

[He is taller. That's kind of hilarious.]

Hi. [Still avoiding committing to a name. :v Peter does hand over the file without further discussion, though.] Here. I figure there's no harm in letting you see it, it's not gonna say anything you don't already know.

[Andddd... he doesn't really know where to go from here, if he's really being honest. So.] How are you settling in?

[He doesn't stand there to flip through it, no he's going to do that on his own time, behind a locked door. The file gets tucked under his arm, and he half turns to go before arching his eyebrows blandly at Peter. He forgot to mention that 'and we never have contact again' part, didn't he.]

It's nice, that you want to do your job, but there are a few things we ought to be clear on, the first of which is that I won't be reporting to you.

Yeah, and you're also not going to be totally avoiding me, either. I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be more like a partnership than "I'm your boss, when I say jump, you say how high".

[And like hell is he going to let you just wander away and do your own thing all the time. He made a deal, and he was going to see it completed, come hell or high water, or whatever that expression was.]

[Or whatever the expression was JAMES WANTS A NEW WARDEN, ONE WHO IS OLD ENOUGH TO BUY ALCOHOL IN HIS NATIVE COUNTRY PLS.

I'm not interested in partnerships.

Too bad? Because it kind of seems like we're stuck together. [Or, you know, he could ask for a new inmate, but he wasn't planning on doing that after talking to the guy literally once.] Unless you've got a better plan that doesn't involve us never speaking, in which case I'm all ears.

[It was sort of strange, to feel himself falling back on the whole Spider-Man identity thing he'd sort of constructed for himself once he'd started putting on a mask and fighting street thugs, but it was basically instinct at this point. Bond clearly wasn't going to be listening to a stammering teenager who looked like he'd been mugged, and while he couldn't do much about part of that, the other half was something he could sort of control.]

[This really is the start of a beautiful relationship. Bond is pausing for a moment, then turning to face Peter fully again.]

You're what, end of secondary school? Starting college? [He holds up the file.] I assume you've read this. And I assume you've made a copy. What makes you think you're remotely qualified to redeem me?

Finishing up high school, yeah. [You Brits and your crazy school system.] What are you hoping to hear? I kinda feel like I could say I'm the youngest president of the United States and you still wouldn't think I was qualified.

[Whatever it's much more interesting. Also, you child.]

You didn't answer my question.

[Just a look for that, Parker, well observed. He just didn't think it was worth answering.]

So I didn't. [And you know what, going to turn on his heel and head back down the hall with his file B( Bond is totally the mature adult here B(]

[Uh huh, sure. Well, sorry buddy, Peter is just going to follow you. Wherever you're going. Look, he's barely even limping!]

Why'd you try to kill Poison Ivy?

[Hnnnnnn. He doesn't react, just keeps walking. Would you like a limp on the other leg to balance things out, Pete?]
