[Peter smiles a little awkwardly at the camera, not really sure how one goes about addressing a post like this, but he's homesick enough right now to want to try anyway]

Hey, so, uh, this is Peter Parker. Your friendly neighborhood... warden, I guess.

If there's anyone out there from back home, [Gwen, Aunt May, hell he'd love to hear from Flash Thompson right now, that is not a joke. :c] let me know?

[Friends Filter - If you think you're on it, you are!]

Sorry I kind of... fell off the map for a while. [Port was terrible, and no Peter does not want to talk about it. B( So much so that he sort of hesitates awkwardly for a slightly awkward moment before clearing his throat and trying to move on.] Is everyone okay?

[Private to Snow]

Seriously, sorry I didn't really say anything, I was- [Really messed up.] Anyway. Sorry. Thanks for checking in on me.

[Private to Anya]

So, Dean thinks we should work some projects together with, you know, maintenance and repair stuff. If that's cool.

I guess that answers any questions about whether or not I wanted to be an extra in Master and Commander. [Although, really.] That said, it definitely could have been worse. I mean, can you imagine if we ever got stuck somewhere like that, permanently? I'd take running water and modern medicine over pirates any day, I don't care how cool Jack Sparrow makes it look.

[Private to Alex]

Bummer about not finding any treasure.

[Private to Racetrack]

Hey. [... now what to say :|] I know this is weird, but. You do get kind of used to breaches.

[And Public, after he's realized SOMEONE hasn't seen Star Wars]

Alright, so, who here hasn't seen Star Wars? Kinda sounds like we need to have some kind of group movie night when people are taking a break from being all obsessive about port.

[Private to Bond]

I'm making Alex watch Star Wars. You should come. I promise I won't make you watch any of the prequels.

[Filtered to the Crew of the Redeemer]

[Peter - who looks a little younger and scruffier than his Barge counterpart, as in his hair's longer and his clothes are a little too big for him and definitely in need of a wash - clicks on the video feed and smiles sort of nervously, like a kid asking for permission to borrow his dad's car for the first time, and, really, that's not too too far off from what he's doing here.]

So, I know we've apparently got company on the other side of the island, but- [And again, he looks a little sheepish, because he really should be waiting for orders before saying something like this to everyone, but.] I thought maybe it might be a good idea to go scouting and see if there's anything we need on the island? Like food, or some more fresh water or something?

[He quickly tacks on another question.]

Unless someone needs me for something on board the ship? [See look, he's task oriented and stuff!

But no seriously, he just wants to get off the boat.]

[Spam for the Beach]

[Not long after making the message, Peter isn't sticking around to have anyone tell him otherwise and is scrambling off the boat and onto the beach. He's not really sure what he's planning on doing or what he hopes to find here - well, actually, he's definitely got some ideas, but even he's able to admit that some of them border on completely out of the question/way too fanciful, so there's that - but he really just wants to get out and about and stretch his legs a little.

When his feet hit the sand and he readjusts to being on dry land again, he casts about looking for anyone else who'd been ordered off the ship or just decided to appreciate the fact that they were somewhere other than the naval vessel and more or less out of each other's hair for the time being. He didn't see any sign of the pirates, which he figures is a good thing, and starts looking around for the people he's become friendly with in his time on board, namely Alex, because he was usually more or less friendly and didn't mind Peter hanging around as long as he was willing to help out when necessary, which he almost always was.]

[ooc: Peter is a fifteenish year old orphan turned cabin boy who really just does odd jobs on board and tries to keep busy/out of the way as much as possible. He doesn't hate being part of the navy, he's definitely a little enchanted by/actually believes in all those old folklore-y tales and kind of wants to find buried treasure. Because that would be cool.]

[Open Spam, Flood Day Two, Anywhere on the Barge]

[Peter thinks he's been here for a few weeks, now, and he still hasn't been assigned an inmate, which means for the most part, he just keeps out of the way of people. He's not anything special - just a normal, human kid who screwed up and got a lot of people hurt, and now he was trying to make up for it in what was probably some version of purgatory.

So he keeps to himself, mostly. He knows he's probably depressed, but he's really not interested in talking about it with anyone, so he eats alone, works alone, and wanders the Barge alone, which is what he's up to now.

People who aren't affected by the flood will notice his posture's a little more hunched in on himself than usual, and he's got on a dark sweatshirt with the hood up, which is definitely not normal for the Peter Parker who's actually been on board for the last several months. He generally avoids eye contact, keeps conversations short, and pretty much comes off as a moody, deeply unhappy teenager. Which is really what he is.]

[The feed clicks on and the camera's fumbled with for a moment or so before it points at Peter, who looks tired, a little worse for wear and pretty covered in mud.]

Hey, so, um- [He wipes a hand over his face, smearing more mud over his eye.]

I just spent a couple hours in a swamp trying to find some stuff for a guy in town? And there are giant spiders in there. Like, seriously, they're huge, they can talk, and they're definitely not friendly, as in they definitely tried to eat me. So, uh, be careful.

[And that said, he is letting out a sort of tired sigh and managing a somewhat self depreciating smile.] Is there like, a shower or anything in town so I can hose some of this stuff off me?

[Open Spam for Town]

[After dropping off the supplies with the man who'd asked for his help - with a word about how hey, maybe you could've said something about the giant, man eating spiders in the swamp, thanks buddy - Peter is wandering about town looking for something else to occupy his time with. Honestly, now that the immediate danger's out of the way - and even then, the adrenaline rush that came along with that kind of thing he'd kind of. Missed. Which was maybe a little pathetic - he's back in that state where this is all pretty cool, because just like every other nerdy kid, he grew up reading Tolkien and Narnia and all that, and this was pretty much everything he'd sort of fantasized about when he was younger.

So he pretty much can be found anywhere, watching people work, asking questions about the town and what lies beyond it, and he's really not against the idea of picking up some other little job to do or something, just to keep busy. Might as well, right?]

[ooc: If anyone wants to spam swamp adventures, or borrow Peter for a quest or anything, I am totally up for it. c:]

[Warden Filter]

So, uh, has anyone else noticed any weird, panels or something like- [And Peter is turning on the video feed, fumbling with the camera for a moment and pointing it at the wall. You can see Peter's hand stretch out and gently pull back a misaligned wall panel to reveal it pulling away slowly, leaving a gap between it and the innards of the wall, which is definitely big enough for someone to squeeze through if he moves it a couple more inches.] This?

I don't want anyone to like, freak out, [Considering they were doing that enough already.] because it doesn't look like something broke it or anything, but. It's still weird.

[And, you know, deeply concerning if the Barge was actually falling apart or something.]

Has anything like this happened before?

[Private to Bond]

Dude, where are you?

Peter Parker | Spider-Man
04 March 2013 @ 12:01 pm
So, Tim and I were kinda trying to figure out some stuff about how this place actually works, but obviously he's not around anymore, so... Is there anyone who's been, I don't know, studying how we don't, you know, asphyxiate and die when we go out on deck, or how the rooms work or whatever?

I mean - not to get anyone's hopes up or whatever but - maybe there's a way to turn off whatever messed up the hallways and common rooms or something.

[Private to Alex]

You ever find out what was going on with Zero?

[Private to Banner]

Thanks for letting me help out back during that whole thing. I know I'm not like, actually a doctor or anything, but if you ever want an extra set of hands, I could, you know, help.

[Private to Bond]

You've been kinda quiet. [Is this the good kind of quiet, or are you brooding/getting up to some other horrible mischief. :|]

So. [Guess who has two thumbs and isn't going to be talking about the flood or anything else that's been going on lately? THIS KID.] How common, exactly, are superheroes or vigilantes and stuff a... thing in your world? Because we sort of just had the one back home, and it kind of seems like there's about fifty of them on the Barge alone.

[He hesitates a beat before continuing, because this is just fucking weird to be talking about, even though it seems like there are a lot of people who are pretty cool about the whole I can juggle cars/set things on fire/kill you with my brain thing on board.]

And if you don't have superheroes, then what about people with superhuman abilities? Or, I don't know, what's normal on your home planet, if you're not from Earth?

You don't have to answer if you don't want, I'm just, you know. Curious.

[Private to Bond]

[He doesn't really want to talk about this at all, honestly. Buttt he does want to acknowledge it and say thanks, too, so. Keeping it short and sweet. B(]

Thanks. For not telling her about why I'm here.

[Private to Oliver]

Seriously?

[YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID, OLIVER.]

[Private to Alex]

So, I'm Spider-Man. [...] Which you probably guessed by now, but. I thought it was fair, considering, you know. [That truth flood. B(]

Sorry.

Peter Parker | Spider-Man
13 February 2013 @ 08:33 pm

[The video feed clicks on to reveal what, to some old timers, is a familiar face! Except she's blonde, and definitely dressed differently than either Olive or Wichita, and this broadcast is definitely coming from Peter's comm, and not some new arrival, so there's that.

She smiles, and if there's any amount of awkwardness over addressing what's basically a video blog to a bunch of strangers, she doesn't show it.]

Hi, I'm Gwen Stacy, and I guess I'll be filling in for Peter for the next couple days. Which is... weird. Really didn't expect him to be running off to play prison warden without saying anything about it. [Which is concerning more than anything else, but if there's a flicker of that in her expression or voice at all, she moves on quickly enough.]

Anyway, if anyone needs him, I guess you're gonna have to be patient, or leave a message with me, and I can leave him a note or something to get back to you.

[She'll probably be writing him a note or something of her own, anyway, because seriously, Parker, what is going on here?]

What's the lab on board like?

[ooc: Gwen is from before the attack on their school and thus doesn't know about her dad getting killed, and I would appreciate it staying that way. :c Also, fourth walling her gently is okay, as is recognizing her as Olive/Wichita/other Emmas, but please don't tell her she's supposed to die at some point. :c]

[Peter is sitting at his desk in his room, legs pulled up onto the chair and crossed in front of him. It's a sort of awkward fit - Peter's as tall as he is skinny, even though he's definitely gained some muscle mass since getting bitten by the spider - but it doesn't quite look uncomfortable. His expression, though, is sort of another story, because he definitely looks a little uncomfortable. He wasn't affected by the flood, but it was still weird, to see everyone babbling about themselves and letting everyone have access to their insecurities and worries.]

So, uh, how often do floods like that... happen? Not that it didn't make for an interesting couple days or anything, but I kind of figure too much sharing usually just ends badly, especially in a place where everyone kinda seems like they overreact to everything. [And really, he's just counting his blessings he wasn't affected, because too many people have suspicions about who he actually is and what he does already and he did not need to just blab it over the network. B(]

[Private to Bond]

Are you gonna threaten to shoot me again if I ask how you're handling what happened?

[...]

Where did you even get a gun, anyway?

[Spam for the Deck]

[Thus far, Peter had been unable to find much of anything useful when it came to figuring out how just about anything in this place actually worked. Not that it was really unexpected, because everyone had been pretty upfront about there not being much more than theories about how anything actually worked, but he was still curious and wanted to see for himself about a few things.

Like the deck, for example. He and Tim hadn't been able to find any signs of a generator for whatever was stopping them from being sucked off into the vacuum of space, or creating an atmosphere or whatever was actually going on here, and today he'd specifically dug around in his room for a while to find a pair of gloves to further test the theory that it could be a force field keeping them safe.

It was a little juvenile, probably, but considering he couldn't fly and didn't know anyone who could, it was pretty much the best option he had available at the moment, and so for a few minutes, he can be found up on deck lobbing snowballs over the side as hard as he can throw them, waiting to see if they bounce back or hit something. So far, they hadn't, and after a couple tries, he leaned over the deck railing, peering down into the weird... river was probably the best word for it, even though it was definitely not water, and wondered what would happen if he climbed down the side of the ship and tried to touch it.

It seemed like a pretty terrible idea, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't curious.]

[ooc: So, since Bond officially knows Peter's Spider-Man, feel free to fourth wall him within reason. His updated permissions are here!]

[Private to Bond]

[So. Two things.

1. Peter did not expect to be paired this quickly.

And 2. Peter did not expect his inmate to be James freaking Bond. How are you supposed to warden James Bond? He knew there were people like that on board after talking with Kay - and really, kind of a bummer he hadn't been handed like, Darth Vader's file or something, but hey - but it was still totally unexpected. He'd thought he'd end up with someone who was like, a car thief or a serial killer or basically someone he'd never heard of before, and this was kind of crazy.

Still, he reads the file quickly and doesn't take long after that to get in touch with him over the network, kind of excited to get started on this.]

So- [Oh crap. What is he supposed to call you? Mr. Bond? Bond? James? ... Jimmy?

Okay wait, he's chickening out of committing to a name for now.]
We should probably talk.

[Warden Filter]

So, obviously I'm kind of new at this whole thing, and I'm not usually one for gossip, but if anyone's got any information on stuff I should know [Oh crap oh crap seriously Parker you need to decide on what you're going to call him sooner rather than later.] about my inmate, you know, like. From before I got here? Let me know.

[The video clicks on, and hey Barge, it's Peter again. He looks a lot less sweaty, exhausted and covered in blood than the last time he made a post, considering the cuts on his face have been cleaned and bandaged and he's gotten some sleep, but he still looks a little like hell and he knows it.

At least he was smart enough to make this post when he wasn't all rambly thanks to painkillers, right?]

Hi, uh, take two, I guess. [And that would be a sort of self depreciating smile.] My name's Peter, I'm a warden, and I guess I'm gonna be here for a while.

[... Wait no that's not right.] Not in the infirmary, for a while, I mean, you know, on the Barge. For a while.

Sorry for making kind of a scene the other day, things got kind of crazy before I got here. [Which is the understatement of the century, but. Anyway, moving along.] And thanks for all the offers to help out. I definitely appreciate it.

So, uh, if there's anything I should know about working here, let me know? Thanks.

[Filtered to Tim and Alex]

Thanks for getting me to the infirmary. Sorry if I got any blood on you.

[Spam for Banner]

[Peter wasn't dumb enough to try and sneak out of the infirmary until he got the all clear from the infirmary staff, and on top of that, he really was kind of exhausted. Spending most of the previous night trying to save the city while getting the crap kicked out of you was not really something most people just walked off the day afterward.

Still, he wasn't really planning on spending the entire day napping, and when he caught sight of the doctor who had treated him, he perked up a little and called out to him.]

Hey, uh, Doctor Banner?

[So, as it turns out? Running into things without really giving proper thought to the consequences is a terrible idea, which is a lesson you'd think Peter would have learned by now.

But, he didn't, which is why when the Admiral offered him the deal on the roof of the OsCorp tower, he'd taken the deal without thinking about it. Which meant he was currently on the floor of his room in his Spider-Man costume, sans mask, bruised and cut up and with a bullet in his thigh which was reallyyyy starting to hurt.

A couple minutes later, he'd managed to get himself out of his costume and into a t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants and found his comm. He clicks on the video feed and fumbles with it a little, finally getting it so everyone's got a pretty good look at his face. There are cuts and scrapes all over his face, most of which look pretty fresh and some look pretty nasty, and there are definitely some bruises forming.]

Hi, um- [He blinks and rubs a hand over his eyes, trying to focus.] Is there a doctor or... Something on board? I could kinda use a hand.

[ooc: Alex and Tim have dibs on getting him to the infirmary, but feel free to ask him what the hell happened. He'll have a more official intro going up tomorrow or the day after. c:]
